Building Pledge

Dear Church Family,

I pray that this finds you well in the Lord. Last month the Elders shared with you our need to build a new building. We asked for feedback about moving forward with planning this next stage of growth. From what we have heard from you as the body of Christ at GHBC, you also recognize this need.

I would ask you to prayerfully consider what you will sacrificially give towards the paying off of the current loan. God has truly blessed this church, and I firmly believe it is because of your faithfulness, the body of Christ. This pledge is beyond your weekly giving of your first fruits. We should all give with joyfully and cheerful hearts (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

We have 128 family units in our church. If every family unit could give $3,000 a year towards the debt reduction/ building fund, that would come to $384,000. If that happened, the debt would be paid off by the end of the year, and we would have $384,000 in year two of the pledge to put toward the new building program.

The pledge card you receive is shown below. I want to make a few things clear. First, the Elders will not see who has pledged or what amount an individual has pledged. Rachel, our administrative assistant, will be the only one that will record the amount given. She will communicate the number of family units pledged, and the total amount pledged. Second, this is between you and the Lord. Last time we had a pledge program (2019) there was a concern that if they did not fulfill the pledge, they would be sinning against God. You have not lied to God if you cannot meet the pledge because of unforeseen circumstances.

For those who are unable to attend in person or faithfully follow GHBC online and would like to support GHBC with a pledge, please fill out the form below.  This form is secure and will go to Rachel Lane our administrative assistant who is recording the pledges. Again, I would like to assure you that Rachel will be the only one who sees who, and the amount an individual is pledging.

Your shepherd, Pastor Mark
