He gets Us!

And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 1 John 4:16

This past Sunday, a progressive, woke, and social gospel commercial played during the Super Bowl. It showed people washing the feet of people who would be seen   as outside of the concern of others. The truth is that all people, no matter what they believe or how they act,    are in need of salvation through Jesus Christ. The problem with the He Gets Us folk is they didn’t share the Gospel, and if you go to their webpage, they don’t share it there either.

What the commercial left out needs to be understood!

He gets us….

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the LORD search the   heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”    Jer. 17:9-10

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them” Romans 1:18-19

“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual  immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before,     that those who do such things will not inherit the  kingdom of God.”  Galatians 5:19-21

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a  man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to  his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit     the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the           sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy,  nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in  the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Cor.6:9-11

He gets us. That’s why God sent His Son to die for us, and all who turn from their sins and believe Jesus died to free them from their sins will have everlasting life.

He gets us, and those who do not repent and believe will spend eternity in hell. Jesus is indeed love but He is also a God of justice and wrath.
