No Fear!

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains shake into the heart of the sea:”   Psalm 46:1-2

Fear. All of us have experienced that emotion. It is such a powerful emotion that it can freeze a person in their tracks. I have witnessed victims of crime that were so fearful they could neither run nor fight. Yet, the Bible makes it clear that Christians have nothing to fear. I want to give you ten verses to meditate on to help you overcome any fear you might have.

Ps 23:4-”Even though I walk through the valley of  the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

2 Tim 1:7-”For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and self-discipline.”

John 5:24-“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who    hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

Romans 6:5-”For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we   shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection”

John 14:1-3-“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to  prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”

1 Corinthians 15:42-44-”So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a corruptible body, it is raised an incorruptible body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.”

Philippians 3:20-”For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!” Hebrews 2:14-15 “Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.”    1 John 4:17-19 “By this, love has been perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day     of judgment, because as He is, so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”
