The Mark!

If anyone worships the beast and his image, and  receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand,” Rev.14:9

There is a concern with some within the body of Christ concerning the mark of the beast. Let’s examine why    this should not be an issue for any believer.

In Revelation 13, we are introduced to the mark of the beast, “And he causes all, the small and the great, and   the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, that they be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of     the beast or the number of his name (Rev.13:16-17)”. The mark is an identifier for those willing to take the      seal on their hand or forehead.

The Antichrist is the political and military leader of the dragon, Satan. The false prophet is the religious leader, and he will lead the worldwide cult of Antichrist worship. How is it possible for people to be so deceived? John gives us the answer,  And he does great signs, so that     he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which were given to him to do in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come  to life (Rev.13:13-14)”. As a result, most of the world will worship the Antichrist and willingly receive his mark to identify themselves as a follower.

There has been debate about allowing a microchip to be inserted in one’s hand for medical or financial           purposes. Having a medical or financial microchip inserted into your right hand or forehead is not the mark of the beast.

The mark of the beast will be an end-times identification required by the Antichrist to buy or sell, and it will be given only to those who worship the Antichrist.  Since every believer is secure in their salvation, they can not lose it (Romans 8:1). Those Tribulation saints will not take the mark of the beast. No follower of Christ will worship the Antichrist and Rev. 14:9 lists that as a requirement to receive the mark.

Paul writes to the church in Corinth, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by   the Holy Spirit (1Cor.12:3).”  Only those that are His can call Him Lord and His elect our secure for all time. Be at peace, Christian, knowing that the one who secured your salvation through His sacrificial death will preserve you to the end of your race here on earth.

Your shepherd,

Pastor Mark
