Faith, not Fear!

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

We are getting ready to enter into a New Year. We have seen God bless His church here at GHBC over the past year. We have seen souls saved and lives changed. We have seen babies born into our church family and have seen God call home some we love. This year we lost two members of Grace Harvest, Amber Weyant, and Chuck Lane. It is never easy to lose the ones we love and hold dear. We grieve and mourn but not like the World. Amidst broken hearts and a longing for those we have lost, we know that those who belong to our Lord we will be united again

“But we do not want you to be uninformed,  brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring  with him those who have fallen asleep.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Christian, you have no reason to fear death, no reason to fear sickness or disease. We have the hope of knowing that every believer will be reunited with Christ. Paul said, “this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:53). You need not fear what mortal man can do to us, for God has redeemed you. No arrow can harm you, and no sickness can take your life if God does not allow it to occur.

As you enter into this new year, my prayer for you is that you would be at peace and take comfort knowing that you are a child of God, co-heirs with Christ, and adopted into His family. Never forget the blood of Christ redeemed you so, live your life accordingly. Have faith in God and do not fear.

“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell”. Matthew 10:28

Your shepherd,

Pastor Mark
