Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
Jeremiah 32:27
Too many Christians live a defeated life. We worry, we doubt, we fear, and we lack the faith of a mustard seed. Instead, we need to realize that we have been chosen by God to be living sacrifices for Him. We were once slaves to sin and now we are slaves to righteousness. God has given us a helper, the Holy Spirit, which lives in us so we can have victory over our worry, doubt, fear and anything else that gets in our way of living a life pleasing to Him.
We need to remember that there is nothing too hard for God. Paul wrote to the Philippians, And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Christ will strengthen you and equip you to do all that He has called you to do for Him.
In 2005 before I even knew where God would have me serve Him Cathy and I attended the Southern Baptist Convention in Greensboro NC. During the conference, they made an appeal to the SBC representatives to pray for the lost around the world. At one point in their presentation, I felt a clear leading of the Holy Spirit that no matter where God would have me serve as a pastor, I would be involved in spreading the Gospel in Africa. I remember leaning over to Cathy and telling her of my desire. She smiled and told me that she too felt the Holy Spirit prompting. I felt so inadequate and unworthy to accomplish His will. However, I determined to trust in Him and His strength and not my own. God has raised up a body of believers at GHBC to accomplish that vision.
Since the beginning Grace Harvest has been faithful to that calling. We have sent teams to Uganda in 2007, 2014, and 2017. We support the ministry of Pastor Abraham with New Life Baptist in Soroti and Pastor Robert with Grace Harvest Baptist Tororo. I would never imagine that God would allow us to see Him work in such a mighty way. I give God all the glory for what He is doing through the faithfulness of His people at GHBC. We must never forget that when we feel inadequate, fearful, or lack faith, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”
Your shepherd,
Pastor Mark
