Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be delivered over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not from here."
John 18:36
Do you feel frustrated by the political conflict in our country? Does it occupy your thoughts so much that it takes away your joy? Do you spend more time watching FOX News than focusing on the things of the Lord—reading the Bible, praying, serving, worshiping?
No president, no politician, no world leader can interfere with the coming of God's Kingdom. Jesus’ words to Pilate remind us that His kingdom cannot be stopped or delayed by human power. Even when earthly governments oppose Him or chaos seems to prevail, Christ reigns sovereignly.
Christ’s kingdom is both present and future. Currently, it exists spiritually in the hearts of believers. Those who trust Jesus live under His rule, experiencing His guidance, protection, and transformation. The church participates in this kingdom through obedience, worship, and proclaiming the gospel.
Yet, the kingdom is not yet fully realized. In the future, Christ will return to establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth—a literal reign of peace and righteousness where God’s promises to Israel are fulfilled. Beyond that, His eternal reign will culminate in the New Heavens and New Earth, where His kingdom will last forever, free from sin and suffering.
This means that nothing in our current world—no conflict, injustice, or chaos—can prevent God’s sovereign plan. His kingdom is unstoppable, and we are called to live as citizens of this eternal kingdom today, with hope for what is to come.
Your shepherd,
Pastor Mark
